[Investigating] There is a global issue creating intermittent issues with accessing other tools and services through Blackboard. This is affecting, for example, access to Re/Play, Turnitin and Marks Extract. The Blackboard engineers have identified the issue and are working on fixing it. [Investigating] IT Services are investigating issues reported with the Re/Play (Mediasite) service. This is only currently affecting the "Record Now" ad-hoc recording functionality. Scheduled recordings should be unaffected as recording takes place locally. Scheduled recordings won't publish initially but will catch up once the service is back online. Further investigations are ongoing.

Essential network maintenance will take place on Thursday, 2 May, from 5.30 pm to 9.00 pm. During this period, there will be a break to the network on two occasions, each lasting 30 minutes. During these two periods, staff and students on campus will be unable to connect to services, and those off campus will be unable to access services hosted on-site. This will also impact services hosted on site that require internet access to function. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause. [Identified] Following work by Blackboard on the service, we are aware that some students and staff have been unable to access Blackboard today, 6 May 2023. We believe this issue has been corrected. Additional information can be found on the Digital Education Office Blog blackboard.blogs.bristol.ac.uk. If you continue to have problems, you can try flushing the DNS on your computer using the following instructions below. Windows 1. At the bottom left corner, type 'cmd' in the Start menu's search bar, and press Enter. 2. Type 'ipconfig /flushdns' in the Command Prompt, and press Enter. 3. You should receive the following message: Windows IP Configuration Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache Mac 1, Open Terminal 2. Enter this command into the Terminal window: sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder and then press Enter. 3. Type your device password, and press enter again.
