Interruption to incoming calls for a range of numbers on the morning of 6 February

Description

Virgin Media will no longer support a number of old telephone lines and we need to move the following numbers to a new cloud-based solution to avoid losing these numbers. The work will take place on the morning of Tuesday 6 February. While the numbers are ported, external incoming calls will not be received. Internal calls and outgoing calls are unaffected. This typically takes one hour but due to the amount of numbers this could take up to 4 hours or longer. Description

Further preparation needs to take place on the University telephone infrastructure. The remaining UoB analogue telephone number ranges will be porting to a cloud-based solution. Porting of the telephone lines at OAKFIELD HOUSE to take place during the working day of 21st November 2023 starting at 9.30am. There will be a small outage in service, but we expect service to be restored by normal working hours. Brief interruption to analogue phone service on the evening of Tuesday 6 June

Description

The University is working to modernise its telephony infrastructure by replacing outdated analogue phones before the nationwide discontinuation of BT's analogue PSTN network. During the night of 6 June, the remaining analogue telephone number ranges will be porting to a cloud based solution. There will be a small outage in service but we expect service to be restored by normal working hours. You can identify analogue phones by looking for devices that do not have ‘Unify’ written on them or an LCD screen, such as the Agent 1000, BT Diverse 7110, BT Converse 2300 models (see uob.sharepoint.com/sites/itservices/SitePages/Phones-available-at-the-University.aspx)
