We are undertaking essential wireless equipment upgrades in various locations. There may be a brief interruption to network connectivity in its vicinity for devices connected to Wi-Fi. We anticipate disruption of around 15 minutes but if you are having wireless connection issues after 30 minutes simply switch your Wi-Fi off and back on again to reconnect to the campus Wi-Fi network. The network should recover and reconverge without manual intervention, but IT staff will be on standby during the work to monitor key services and act if required. Updates will be provided on the Interim Wi-Fi Project page. In each building, the essential work is scheduled as follows: • Wills Memorial Building - from Weds 3 April (3 days) • Queens Building - from Mon 8 April (5 days) Apart from in exceptional circumstances, all work will be carried out during typical hours of operation, between the hours of 8am to 6pm. We are working with building Facilities Managers to ensure this essential work is carried out with sensitivity to key events and activities in your buildings, although some impact is inevitable. This will directly impact the CampusM check-in app, the Student App, and timetable service. Students may experience: Inability to check-in to activities. Blank timetable. Errors trying to refresh timetable. There are only around 8 activities on Thursday so expect this to have very low impact. Normal service will resume after 12:30pm.

There will be planned downtime on BluePebble which is required to perform an essential upgrade. This will take place from Tuesday 2nd of April at 9:00 until Friday 5th of April 17:00. During this time the system will be inaccessible. Please be aware that when querying jobs you in the lead up to the downtime you may see the Reason: (ReqNodeNotAvail, Reserved for maintenance) (or something similar) This means your job is unable to run prior to the scheduled downtime. We apologise for any disruption this may cause to your research or teaching. A further downtime is needed in early May 2024 to update the operating system for BluePebble, as the current OS is end of life. We are moving services and infrastructure from our external Data Centre (DC3) to our on-campus Data Centre between 23 February to 11 March.
