Service interruption due to essential departmental filestore upgrade - weekend of 11 July Planned Maintenance

Over the weekend of the 11/12 July an essential upgrade will take place of the departmental filestore (sometimes referred to as GPFS). There will be an interruption to some services (detailed below) of up to two hours between midday and 4pm on Saturday 11 July. To minimize the impact of this the work we have scheduled it over a weekend as there are many activities to perform across multiple areas. This work may affect some (but not all) filestores accessed via: \\ads.bris.ac.uk\filestore \\ads.bris.ac.uk\folders \\ads.bris.ac.uk\servers \\ads.bris.ac.uk\software Please note that elements of the departmental filestore are used by a wide range of services to perform certain functions. Elements of business services may be affected and include, but are not limited to, the following services: - some functionality within SITS - Access to :ads.bris.ac.uk/Filestore/MyERP/AgressoDesktopGPFS - Temporary Network Storage - Voicemail Service - ZB-ALSPAC filestore - SAFE - SITE Manager - CMS Plone intranet sites - Web departmental ‘media’ folders - Interact - ZD-GELY Geophysics Suite Business 2 Every effort has been made to find a suitable time to conduct this work. Over the weekend services should be considered at risk. IT staff will be checking services during the work to ensure prompt recovery.
