Following the successful maintenance on the University network during the evening on Friday 19 March and Saturday 20 March we now need to compete the upgrade tonight, Monday 22 March, between 5.30 pm and 9.00 pm.
Due to the nature of the issue the University has deemed this critical activity.
During the work on Monday 22 March between 5.30 pm and 9.00 pm there will be a potential for interruption to a wide range of services from on and off-campus during the period of the work.
We advise staff and students to make appropriate plans to have work available offline during these periods and note alternative contact routes to any services you need to access due to disruption to the phone systems.
Affected services include but are not limited to:
- University website
- Authentication to access University wired and wireless service
- Single Sign On and Shibboleth authentication services affecting access to a number of online services
- Remote Desktop services
- VPN service (due to authentication)
- MyBristol
- Blackboard (unavailable due to Single Sign On)
- Re/Play
- Library services
- Access to licenced software (IBM SPSS, Ansys Granta Edupack, Rockwave PetraSIM, Sparx EA, Siemens NX12, Visual Components, DNVGL Solar Farmer, COMSOL) - SITS / StudentInfo
- Timetabling
- Print Release
- Departmental Filestore
- MyERP
- CareerHub
- Smarteezie
- ALSPAC Clinic Booking System
- eBiolabs
- data.bris
- Skype for Business (On Premise) Telephony
- VoIP OneNumber webclient and phone service and Voicemail Service for VoIP
- DIVERSP/DataHaven - underpins a number of web based services.

****Please note the following services are not affected by this change****
- Microsoft 365 services - Outlook, Teams etc.
- Zoom (providing you are not on campus and are using a link to join a meeting. You may not be able to create a new meeting.)
- University texting service
- Analogue phones on main campus and Langford campus and telephony at Coombe dingle
- Mobiles though if onsite you may need to disable wifi calling.
- Mutiltone Pagers

- All fire alarms
IT Services are investigating mitigating actions to reduce the number of services affected by this work.
